Abstract. The affiliation of communication participants with a certain culture can be observed within the framework of digital diplomatic discourse. The article examines the peculiarities of implementing mitigation strategies aimed at reducing the risks of conflict situations, from the perspective of the cultural affiliation of the addresser. The research identifies the most commonly used mitigation tactics, including the tactic of emphasizing the subjectivity of opinions and the tactic of indefinite reference. The addresser’s appeal to the aforementioned tactics is explained not only by their desire to minimize risks but also by linguistic and cultural characteristics: American linguistic culture is individualistic, and this feature is reflected in the communicative strategies employed by representatives of the culture in the discourse of digital diplomacy.
