Abstract. This article discusses some aspects of scaling sociocultural projects. Based on an analysis of theoretical sources on the development of sociocultural projects, the author proposed approaches to scaling: collaboration, replication, meaningful transformation, subjective transformation. The main guideline in developing the concept and planning the prospects of the project, according to the author, should be such principles of socio-cultural design as the principle of the critical threshold of modifications, the principle of optimizing the zone of proximal development of the individual and the principle of personification. As the author notes, relying on these principles and constructing a project development trajectory in accordance with them is a tool for preventing a number of risks associated with the use of a project approach to transforming the sociocultural situation, namely the risks of replication, atomization, the creation of locally closed projects, the lack of a unified conceptual line and, as a consequence, the emergence of a threat of fragmentation of projects developed by the initiators for solutions to socially significant problems.

The author pays special attention to the analysis of such a criterion of a sociocultural project as uniqueness, emphasizing that the desire to create a new solution should be based on the conditions and characteristics of the spheres of life and lifestyle that determine the content of possible project transformations and are natural for the specific target audience of the project.

In conclusion of the article, the author formulated basic guidelines that should be considered by the creators of sociocultural projects as guidelines when working out the prospects and issues of project development.

Keywords: sociocultural design; project scaling; project risks; project development; principles of sociocultural design; project novelty; project uniqueness
