Abstract. The article deals with the role of the phonetic aspect in forming the competent oral speech of students, it analyzes the features of the use und influence of the role-playing games on forming the correct pronunciation. The authors have made an attempt to generalize and systematize the experience of foreign colleagues in implementing the role-playing games in the learning process aimed at preparing the students for a successful oral communication and to consider the best examples for using the role-playing games developed by Russian linguists in the learning process by teaching rhetoric. The article defines the concept “the role-playing game” used by foreign scientists. There are different classifications of the role-playing games which help stage communicative situations as close as possible to life. The studetns’ oral activity is in the focus of attention by staging such situations of communication. The authors concentrate attention on business games which are actively practised at rhetoric lessons using a foreign language. The authors give a detailed description of some business games. The article emphasizes the positive influence of such games on the students. The authors trace the relationship between involving the students into the process of a role-playing game and improving their pronunciation and their social education, as well. The role-playing games and methods with game elements are rather actively used at practical training lessons at university und have a beneficial effect on the educational climate on the whole, they are the best stimulus for creating a lively and effective communicative situation in the training environment.
