Abstract. In the article from the point of view of ethnolinguistics on the material of the Kalmyk language covers the following border crossing loci: the door, the threshold, started the Yurt, as well as road and cross roads that are boundaries, dividing the space into his and others. The relevance of the work lies in the fact that the boundaries of the loci «own»/»alien» are the key symbols and basic elements of the picture of the world of an ethnic group.

The authors used the following methods: taking continuous sampling units from dictionaries of Proverbs and sayings of the Kalmyk language, phraseological dictionaries of the Kalmyk language; descriptive method; the method of component analysis; method of distributive analysis; ethno-linguistic method of analysis; techniques and stylistic cytotoxicities characteristics, etc.

In the course of the study, the following results were obtained:

• objects of the material world, which divide space into cultivated and hostile, occupy a Central place in the ideas of the Kalmyks and other Mongolian peoples;
• in order to protect both the space itself and its inhabitants from external hostile intrusion and unwanted contacts, it is necessary to perform certain rituals and rituals;
• road and crossroads – borders between two worlds that have sacred significance and require compliance with certain rules of movement and rituals.

The opposition «own»/»alien» is most pronounced in the opposition of a person’s home and the rest of the space. The study of individual fragments of the linguistic picture of the world and its most significant units, namely border loci, is of considerable interest, since it is interdisciplinary and allows us to reconstruct the ethnic picture of the world.

The obtained data can be applied in further research in the field of ethnolinguistics, in the practice of teaching a course in linguoculturology, paremiology and other related disciplines, as well as in the preparation of an educational ethnolinguoculturological dictionary.
