Abstract. The article aims to rethink linguistic and interdisciplinary data on American media discourse and its role in linguistic and cultural globalization. This deepens our understanding of the nature of language, modern linguistic consciousness and its formation as a product of cognitive speech activity, discusses the role of the English language and its key importance in shaping language policy. The article highlights the dynamics of the impact of globalization processes on language, considering it as a constantly evolving sign system that is sensitively adapting to changes in social, cultural, political and economic life. It is emphasized that effective interaction in real conditions requires not only linguistic competence, including vocabulary, grammar and phonetics, but also a deep understanding of cultural characteristics, value orientations, rules of social interaction and acceptable boundaries of their violation. American media discourse is one of the key channels through which global cultural and value orientations are broadcast. American media is actively involved in the formation of a unified global communication space and is itself influenced by globalization trends. The study of American media discourse in the context of globalization reveals the complex dynamics of linguistic changes. On the one hand, there is an increasing role of English as a global language, which contributes to the unification of communication styles. On the other hand, globalization opens up opportunities for the cultural peculiarities of other peoples to penetrate into the American media discourse, which is reflected in the adaptation of specific vocabulary, the development of a politically correct language.
