Abstract. The relevance of this topic stems from the use of an interdisciplinary approach, including historical and philosophical analysis and a critical evaluation of theoretical concepts.
The research topic focuses on the relationship between philosophy and art in historical perspective, analyzing key philosophical concepts, and established notions of aesthetics and artistic creativity, from ancient Greek philosophers to contemporary interpretations of the philosophy of art.
The goal of the study is to identify, describe, and explain the historical and conceptual aspects of the relationship between philosophy and art.
Organization and methods of the study: The study is organized in four parts: a brief analysis of the interaction between art and philosophy; an understanding of philosophy and art as two independent ways of understanding the world and self-expression; identification of their similarities and differences; and a historical and philosophical understanding of aesthetics in the history of philosophy from ancient Greek antiquity to the present day.
The study utilizes comparative historical, hermeneutic, and phenomenological research methods, including analysis and synthesis. The conclusions are based on an analysis of historical and philosophical sources, which demonstrate that art has always been an integral part of the philosophical search for the meaning of existence.
It has been proven that both philosophy and art are a means of self-expression and a means of understanding the reality around us; they appear to contribute to each other’s development and are integral elements of culture, driving forces in the evolution of man and society.
Keywords: philosophy; art; aesthetics; Greek philosophy; Renaissance; Kant; Hegel; Schelling; theory of art; aesthetic theory
