Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the features of the sustainable development discourse in the intercultural space. The article analyzes the ways of verbal interaction on the problems of sustainable development between the representatives of various cultural communities. The author considers several ways of communication implemented by the participants of the discussion: intraprofessional communication, interprofessional communication and professionals-non-professionals verbal interaction. Analyzing the communicants’ speech behavior and the peculiarities of information perception by communicants, the author identifies the properties of the semantic structure inherent in each type of communication, the types of concepts functioning in the discourse of sustainable development and aspects of their meanings. The article examines the emotive potential and axilogical value of hybrid concepts formed as a result of the interaction of institutional subdicuses of sustainable development while communicating in various ways. The author emphasizes the ability of hybrid concepts to ensure the plasticity of the discourse of sustainable development and to set a certain trajectory of meaning. Special attention is paid to the analysis of speech interaction between specialists and non-professionals in the mass media. With the deployment of polylogical speech interaction, regardless of the nationality of communicants, their level of education and professional training, temporal, spatial, as well as linguistic barriers, the concepts of sustainable development are actualized and their diffusion into national cultures id underlines. During the coverage of events related to the sustainable development of society, a conceptual model of the event is formed in the discourse of sustainable development. The event is described with the help of various types of concepts. The semantic units representing these concepts, as a rule, come from English, while adequate perception of these concepts by representatives of various cultural communities is facilitated by the status of English as the language of international communication. The wide coverage of sustainable development issues in the media highlights the possibility and necessity of conducting an intercultural dialogue to solve the problems of sustainable development.
