Abstract. Computer games offer players a unique experience in which text plays an important role. However, in addition to written text, computer games also use other communication modalities such as graphics, sound, animation and visual effects. The combination of these factors creates a multimodality of text in the game context, which leads to a deeper and more immersive gaming experience. The multimodality of the text of computer games is expressed in graphics and visual effects, sound, text, interactivity and animation. We have analyzed each of these factors in detail, how they affect the game, how the player will perceive the gameplay and whether the above factors make the game more realistic and exciting. The purpose of this article is to study the features of the multidimensional and multimodality of computer games in the context of their localization using the example of the game «Hogwarts Legacy», as well as to identify the impact of localization on the success and perception of the game in Russia. In addition, we have identified elements of the multidimensional nature of computer game texts, namely: gameplay, graphics and sound, plot and multiplayer and their impact on the gameplay. The multidimensional nature of a text refers to the idea that a text can be viewed from different perspectives or aspects, and each aspect can provide a unique perspective on the content and structure of the text. Based on the specifics of the localization of computer games and the study of scientific articles, 27 general recommendations for the translation and localization of computer games were identified, namely, what a localizer translator should pay attention to in order to perform a correct translation of a video game.
