Abstract. In view of the growing popularity of Dan Brown’s novels as well as research aimed at studying the system of fiction images in modern world literature, much attention has been given recently to the analysis of his works in the context of the delivery of the idea through the character image. The aim of the article is therefore to characterize one of the female characters in Dan Brown’s mystical novel «Inferno», taking into account her movements which act as one of the elements of the literary portraying. The study is of particular relevance considering the need to fill the gaps associated with the lack of research in the analysis of the role and images of female characters in Brown’s novels. For this reason, considering the image of Sienna Brooks in the context of her movements is of particular importance for the analysis of the whole system of female characters in Dan Brown’s novels. The article deals with the details of body movements, gestures, eye and facial expressions of the heroine of the novel. Based on the analysis of verbs, as well as non-finite forms, describing heroine’s forms of behavior, authors present a classification of her movements by amplitude and trajectory. According to the above classification, all heroine’s movements are divided into macro-movements, micro-movements and movements with disputable amplitude. In particular, authors stress the importance of the quantitative analysis of the linguistic units reflecting various forms of the character’s behaviour. As the result of the study, authors highlight the prevalence of macro-movements and «dynamism» of the heroine’s image, which justifies her similarity with the main character of the novel. The results of this study may be useful for specialists in the field of philology and literary studies.
