The impact of linguistic and migration policies on the language situation in Italy during the fascist period

Abstract. The article analyzes a number of migration, social and political changes that took place in Italy between 1923 and 1943, their impact on the language situation and the status of dialects and small languages of that time. The author will also evaluate the consequences of violent linguistic changes and linguistic planning, carried out by the Fascist authorities in Italy, – monocentric policy, aimed at unification of all social spheres, that did not take into account cultural, linguistic and ethnic diversity of the country.
