Abstract. The purpose of the study is to identify the connection between the national specifics of the Solidarité concept, its historical development, the social and cultural conditions in which it was formed and its modern content. The author reveals the layered structure of the sociocultural concept Solidarité, corresponding to different stages of its development.
The etymological layer contains information about the formation of the name of the concept and its semantic family from the Latin language and their development in the Old French and Middle French periods. The researcher notes that the passive layer represents the evolution of the concept from the 18th century to the beginning of the 20th century. The layers of the concept are heterogeneous in their structure: the etymological layer does not have a clear framework, in the passive layer there are definitions, microcontexts, synonymic-antonomical series, evaluation as a positive connotation of the name of the concept, figurative series and historical and cultural context; the passive layer is of a national-cultural nature. The actual layer includes a conceptual core containing the universal meaning of the name of the concept, a national and cultural component including the previously listed components, and a periphery represented by a potential component serving as a transition from the passive to the actual layer and combining universal and national and cultural components. The author considers that over time, the concept develops, and the boundaries of the passive and actual layer, as well as its potential component, change.
The researcher concludes that the content of actual layer of the Solidarité concept was determined by the content of its two other layers, namely: the internal form inherited from legal Latin, including this material, or rather, financial, obligation, meaning that appeared in the era of the Enlightenment and the Revolution of the XVIII century, as well as the use of the name of the Solidarité concept as a sociological and political and economic term.
