Problems of morality and ethics on modern video streaming services (sociocultural aspect)

Abstract. Streaming as a technology of streaming broadcasting is not only an effective form of broadcasting, but it is also an independent sociocultural phenomenon, the specificity of which is determined by the role of consumers and content authors, new forms of interaction with the audience, features of self-presentation and self-identification. The modern capabilities of video streaming services allow simultaneous broadcasting of both visual and audio content, further bringing virtual communication situations closer to real communication situations, increasing the emotional degree of interaction, its immediacy, sincerity and determining the relevance of the integrated use of the visual and text-linguistic paradigm in sociological studies of video streaming practices and its consequences.

The article is review, its purpose is to determine the problem field of morality and ethics on modern video streaming services and to study the existing successful practices for solving them. To achieve this goal, we used a method of analysis and systematization of theoretical sources and the results of empirical sociological studies on the socio-cultural aspects of using video streaming and its consequences for social development. In the article, video streaming service as a platform for real-time live streaming is considered as a sociocultural phenomenon that reflects not only new technological possibilities of communication, but also the needs of the individual in the open information society in social interaction and self-presentation. Practical examples of video streaming in various fields (computer games, broadcasting daily, webcam industry) discusses its specific features in comparison with other channels of Internet interaction, explaining the growth of its popularity in the network community.
