Abstract. The article examines the lexical and pragmatic means by which national unity is constructed in the official military-political discourse of the Republic of Korea. The material consists of an author-compiled corpus of 50 official Korean-language texts from the Republic of Korea published between 2018 and 2025, including presidential addresses, strategic and defense documents, legal materials, commemorative speeches, and publications of the Ministry of Unification. The study is qualitative and corpus-oriented: lexical and grammatical markers were used to identify relevant contexts systematically, which were then subjected to lexical-semantic, contextual, and pragmatic analysis. The analysis focuses on nominations of the collective subject, their collocational patterns and associated role positions, forms of address, inclusive deixis, and deontic, commissive, evaluative, and hortative constructions. The findings show that national unity is constructed by coordinating the institutional roles of the state, citizens, the armed forces, veterans, and future generations while preserving distinctions between them. Nominations at the civic and state levels define the boundaries of the collective subject, whereas predicates of protection and responsibility, forms of public commitment, and appeals to joint action distribute agency among its participants. The article proposes an institutional-role model of solidarity that describes the polycentric structure of the national «we» and its variability across analytical registers. The findings demonstrate that the pragmatic function of linguistic means varies across the institutional-functional registers of official communication.
