Abstract. In this study, we aimed to investigate how individuals in creative professions (actors, directors, screenwriters, etc.) conceptualize and structure their perceptions of themselves and the creative person as a whole through metaphorical transfer. The scientific novelty of the research lies in examining the role of structural metaphor in constructing public dialogue, viewing metaphorical transfer not as an unusual use of language but as the process of transferring one situation to another, unfolding over the course of an entire communicative episode or its part. The material for analysis consisted of transcribed video recordings of interviews with Darya Zlatopolskaya conducted within the program «Belaya Studiya» on the Culture TV channel (from 2015 to 2024). The object of the study is the structural metaphor, i.e., understanding one phenomenon in terms of another. The subject of the research is the process of emergence and the nature of development of metaphorical transfer in public dialogue. The authors pay particular attention to the integrative function of metaphorical transfer in public discourse, as well as its capacity to shape a unified image. Additionally, the work presents linguistic means demonstrating the transfer of features from the source domain to the target domain during metaphorical projection. The study explores how people in creative professions conceptualize what distinguishes a creative individual overall and what types of relationships typically develop among people in creative fields.

Keywords: metaphor; metaphorical transfer; cognitive metaphor; structural metaphor; dialogic speech; public dialogue; television interview; personality
