Communicative behaviour and interaction in German educational blogs: strategies and tactics (by the example of a teacher’s blog «Einfach Deutsch lernen»)

Abstract. This article is a part of the author’s thesis research. The object of the study is communicative interaction and communicative behaviour of communicators in the global Internet. The subject of the study is the blog of a German language teacher ‘Einfach Deutsch lernen’ as a genre of Internet communication on the YouTube platform. The purpose of the study is to describe the communicative categories of politeness, as well as strategies and tactics, within the framework of the German language blog. To achieve the aim of the study, the following objectives were set: to examine politeness categories, including the category of mitigation as an important subcategory of politeness, to identify the dominant features of German communication, to analyze this blog and identify the use of negative and positive politeness strategies, to study different typologies of social interactions used in online educational pedagogical discourse. The article describes communicative behaviour occurring in virtual space. The author has analysed and identified important principles of communication in Ida’s blog — these are emotional openness, anti-conflict and non-impositivity. The author focused on the study of virtual communicative interaction within the mediatized genre of pedagogical discourse in German linguoculture by the example of an educational video blog of a teacher on the YouTube platform. The author presents a brief analysis of the information-argumentative strategy, typology proposed by A.M. Oleshkov. The purpose of further research is to consider and analyze the other strategies (manipulative-consolidating, expressive-appellative and control-evaluative), within this typology, to compare them with educational blogs of Russian and English languages.
