Abstract. In the modern world, conflicting inter-ethnic relations are often filled with symbolic capital, the opposing sides. This article is considered the role and significance of symbolic space in the accumulation of negative social capital, which was used in the Ossetian-Ingush conflict. The article presents a historical retrospective of the formation of social capital in Ossetian-Ingush relations.
