Abstract. The article is devoted to studying the impact of different languages on English, one of the most widely used and important means of international communication. To understand the growing relevance of studying the influence of foreign words on developing English, the article uses a theoretical research method that generalizes the analysis of scientific sources to identify the specifics of interlingual influence. The study considers various historical periods where contact with other languages significantly affected the grammatical structure, phonetic characteristics, and vocabulary of English. The author notes the influence of modern language technology and globalization processes on English, reflecting the changes in usage, distribution, and language structure at present. It emphasizes the role of sociocultural aspects in facilitating intercultural exchange and language formation through shift, contributing to borrowing words and phrases and modifying linguistic structures. As part of this study, the author conducted a survey, which provided valuable data regarding respondents’ feeling about linguistic interference and the influence of foreign languages on developing English. The analysis of the results indicates a significant impact of second languages, particularly English, on linguistic skill development and cultural diversity among technical university students. The paper concludes that English continues to evolve and adapt to new conditions and challenges, while maintaining its uniqueness and individuality.
