Consumption globalisation: some aspects

Abstract. Object of research of present article is the consumption phenomenon, and a subject – specificity of consumption in the conditions of globalisation. The social nature, peculiar features and the basic trends of process of consumption, its influence on many aspects of human ability to live are analyzed. The essence of the consumer phenomenon, its demand various social agents and modern market to relations reveals, necessity of existence of a wide spectrum consumer an expert for modern society is considered. The reasons and factors of economic and social character, leaders to growth of consumer activity are shown. Consumption is presented as a condition of development of modern manufacture, as the form of a symbolical exchange, as the factor of prestige, social success and self-identification. Consumption mechanisms in development of universal tendencies, in distribution of the unified and homogeneous structures corresponding to requirements of globalisation and character world economics of communications are investigated. The consumption role in the statement of unity of local and global trends is considered, are shown especial and distinctive features of this process, value of global laws for evolution of local tendencies is analyzed. A methodological basis of research were dialectic principles of objectivity and concreteness thanks to which there was possible a research of problems in their completeness and unity. Article contains elements of scientific novelty which consist in a substantiation of some positions. First, consumption acts as the major and objective characteristic of modern manufacture and distribution processes, as the universal property characterising modern society and the world relations. Secondly, processes of globalisation demand the statement and distribution of principles of a consumer society on society and its subsystems as social, political-economical and cultural-ethical standard.
