Abstract. The article examines the existing approaches to the interpretation of the concept of juvenile justice and the definition of its content. The relevance of the research is determined by the fact that the terminological systems of various sciences and scientific disciplines become a source of constant replenishment of scientific information, therefore, modern linguists face a number of tasks such as the general theoretical study of several terminological systems, the mechanisms of assimilation of borrowed terms in the recipient language, typical ways of transferring foreign language terminology from one language system to another.
To achieve this goal, such methods as analysis, synthesis, deduction, comparative, logical and sociological approaches were used.
Based on the conducted research, it was found that a large number of studies on juvenile justice are presented in the Russian-language scientific discourse. The analysis of the main scientific approaches to the definition of the concept of «juvenile justice» revealed a lack of unity in its meaningful interpretation.
Juvenile justice as a borrowed term in the Russian language has signs of polysemanticism, variability and emotional coloring.
The system of institutions for the protection of the rights and interests of minors, the prevention of child homelessness and juvenile delinquency, which has been steadily developing from the depths of centuries, has received a pronounced protest impulse from Russian society, including against the background of the introduction of the term juvenile justice, which is obscure to the people and associated primarily with foreign experience, alien to the traditional values of Russian society, which hinders the development of juvenile justice in Russia.
