Actualization of the taxis value in the causal situation

Abstract. The purpose of this article is to consider the actualization the taxis categorial semantics of simultaneity in the context of the causal situation.

The article deals with the issue of actualization of the taxis value of simultaneity in the causal situation in statements of German, Russian, English and Dutch.

The relevance of the study is determined by the fact that it describes for the first time the syncretic causal-taxis categorical situations of simultaneity actualized in statements with prepositional deverbatives.

The research was conducted in order to identify and describe causal-taxis markers and actualizers of causal-taxis categorical situations of simultaneity.

To achieve this aim, such methods as: inductive, hypothetical-deductive, descriptive, classification method, method of generalization and interpretation of linguistic facts, as well as techniques of corpus and contextual analysis were used.

Based on the conducted research, it was found that in the statements of the German language, the polytaxis prepositions bei, durch, unter in the causal meaning and the monotaxis causal prepositions aus, wegen, vor, aufgrund, dank act as causal-taxis markers. In the Russian language, causal-taxis markers are monotaxis prepositions of causal semantics благодаря, из-за, от, в силу, ради. In English, prepositional deverbatives act as actualizers of causal-taxis categorial situations of simultaneity when combined with the monotaxis preposition causal semantics because of and polytaxis prepositions in the causal meaning at, with, through, by. In the statements of the Dutch language, causal-taxis categorial situations of simultaneity actualize prepositional deverbatives with monotaxis prepositions of causal semantics wegens, vanwege, acting as markers of causal taxis.
