Ammosov North-Eastern federal university, Yakutsk, Russia<br \/>\nE-mail: koryakina1@gmail.com<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Abstract.<\/strong> The intensification of world processes has sharply posed the problem of preserving traditional ethnic culture. Preservation of cultural heritage in a mass society is the most important problem of our time. In this regard, the issue of the influence of mass culture on the culture of an ethnic group is being updated. Based on a literature review, the article analyzes the concepts of \u201cmass culture\u201d and \u201cethnic culture\u201d. It is shown that the concept of ethnic culture can be correlated with the concept of culture of a traditional society under modernization. It is revealed that ethnic culture is multicomponent and includes both traditional and mass elements, more and more turning into a modern culture, bearing the signs of mass culture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In a modernizing society, due to the huge stream of innovations in the culture of the ethnic community, the specific weight of a foreign element grows in it and the weight of the ethnic component decreases. This situation is reflected in the emergence of two concepts: the modern, or mass component, and the traditional component in the structure of ethnic culture. The mass component of ethnic culture occupies most of it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The author shows that the Yakut culture, being traditional in its foundations, at the same time entered a new level of its development, associated with the objective process of massization and globalization. Today it is a synthesis and opposition of two ways of being: traditional and modern, mass.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The effects of the influence of mass culture on the Yakut ethnic culture \u2013 acculturation and marginalization of the Yakut ethnic group \u2013 are revealed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Keywords:<\/strong> mass culture; ethnic culture; traditional culture; marginality; modernization<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Koriakina Anzhelina Anatol\u02b9evna M.K.
