The research problem arises from the fact that training expands a civil servant\u2019s professional capabilities but does not lead to a change in his or her official position. The purpose of the study is to identify the social and organizational conditions under which training outcomes may contribute to professional and career development. The research materials include academic publications presenting theoretical approaches and findings of sociological studies, as well as regulatory legal acts and departmental materials. The study employs conceptual and comparative analysis and secondary analysis of published sociological research findings. The analysis shows that the career significance of training depends on the civil servant\u2019s motivation, the position of the immediate supervisor, the assessment of acquired competencies, and their incorporation into personnel procedures. Based on the comparison of studies, four variants of using training outcomes are identified: maintaining the professional level without a change in official position; expanding the content of work and professional experience within the current position; incorporating acquired competencies into personnel procedures with the possibility of horizontal mobility or vertical advancement; and the absence of organizational continuation of the acquired results.
