The article substantiates the choice of this text as a representative material for studying the problem of transmission of non-equivalent vocabulary due to significant differences in the Russian and English-language worldviews. It is emphasized that an adequate translation of realities as \u00abGrief\u00bb or \u00abTrouble\u00bb, \u00abbast shoes\u00bb, \u00abkaftan\u00bb or \u00abkovriga\u00bb requires the translator to develop special strategies aimed at preserving not only the semantic content, but also the entire complex of cultural connotations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The article examines in detail the key concepts of the fairy tale as a socio-psychological phenomenon and mythologized essence, \u00abstruggle and overcoming\u00bb, \u00abchoice and consequences\u00bb, which determine its ideological and artistic originality and form a national flavor. Using specific examples, the translation techniques used are analyzed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Special attention is paid to the translation of phraseological units where literal translation is not possible, and it is replaced by idiomatically similar expressions in the target language. The authors present a developed classification of realities according to four criteria: everyday, cultural, linguistic and phraseological, which makes it possible to systematize translation difficulties.
