The lexeme \u00abgrass\u00bb is considered from the point of view of lexicographic analysis to fully reveal its meanings in Russian and Chinese explanatory dictionaries. Then similarities and differences between the two languages are investigated on the material of phraseological phrases and fixed expressions, which allow to explicate stereotypes of national characters. The research methods are semantic and comparative analysis. The main material is Russian and Chinese stable phrases, phraseological units, proverbs and sayings. The relevance of the article lies in the fact that so far no article has been specifically devoted to the study of the concept \u00abgrass\u00bb from the lexicographic point of view within the framework of Russian and Chinese linguo-cultures. There is also no study and classification of Chinese phraseologisms and expressions related to the concept \u00abgrass\u00bb in Russian linguo-culture. According to the results of the study, the author notes that many Chinese and Russian units are anthropocentric, express the character, quality of a person and what is associated with a person. The author also finds that the evaluative complex in Russian and Chinese stable expressions gravitates towards negative evaluations, but the representations of grass are not always negative. Thus, the uniqueness of each linguo-culture and its specific perception of the world is emphasized.
