At the beginning of the work, the author notes the interest of scientists in paremic constructions, points out the controversial issue of the place of paremias in the language system. The subject of the study were proverbs and sayings containing the names of trees and shrubs, as well as their parts. The author emphasizes that these constructions will be investigated using the descriptive method and the method of semantic analysis. A selection of paremic constructions with a dendronymic component was made by the author from the collection \u00abProverbs of the Russian People\u00bb V.I. Dal and \u00abThesaurus Dictionary of Russian Proverbs, Sayings and apt expressions\u00bb by V.I. Zimin. It is well known that a tree is one of the main elements of the traditional picture of the world. In mythology, there is a very close connection between a tree and a person, which determined the author&#8217;s choice of the topic and its relevance. The article examines the role of the most common dendronyms (tree, spruce, aspen, pine, apple tree) and their parts (branch, leaf, root, stump) in proverbs and sayings, most of which characterize a person \u2014 his appearance, mind, health, behavior, attitude to other people, etc. At the end of the article, the author notes the evaluative nature of the paroemias, arguing that this is their inherent quality, and concludes that most of the Russian proverbs and sayings are anthropocentric. The author points out that trees have always been of great importance in people&#8217;s lives, not only from a practical point of view, but also from a spiritual point of view. The tree looks like a person.
