Description of the lexicographical portrait of the lexeme \u00abmigrant\u00bb is one of the stages of the linguistic construction of the migrant\u2019s image in a dissertation research. Lexeme\u2019s representation provides a systematic approach to the study of a language unit and allows to characterize its linguistic aspects as accurately as possible for further study in various contexts. Aim \u2014 description of the lexicographical portrait of the key lexemes-representatives of the image of a migrant in the German language. The research material is the terms presented in the glossary of migration processes \u00abNeue Deutsche Medienmacher*innen\u00bb (2014\u20132021) and the definitions of key lexemes presented in the digital dictionaries DWDS, Duden and OWID. The DWDS corpus OWID dictionary made it possible to determine often used lexemes, phrases, syntactic structures, lexico-semantic groups of the key lexemes-representatives. The study used the linguistic methods of component and distribution analysis. An analysis of word usages number in the German DWDS corpus made it possible to identify the most frequently used lexemes of the synonymic series \u00abmigrant\u00bb for the period 2015\u20132022. \u00abFl\u00fcchtling\u00bb, \u00abAsylbewerber\u00bb, \u00abMigrant\u00bb, \u00abGefl\u00fcchtete\u00bb. The article analyzes the etymology of these lexemes and establishes their derivational potential. The analysis of syntagmatic connections revealed the most significant lexico-semantic groups and semantic features of lexeme \u00abFl\u00fcchtling\u00bb. It is concluded that the key seme of the lexemes Fl\u00fcchtling, Asylbewerber, Migrant, Gefl\u00fcchtete is \u00abmoving from one place of residence to another\u00bb. \u00abMigrant\u00bb is a more general, neutral concept for \u00abrefugee\u00bb, \u00abmigrant\u00bb, etc., The study of syntagmatic relations revealed the co occurrence of lexemes representing the image of a migrant with verbs, adjectives and nouns, which are combined into lexico-semantic groups that make it possible to construct the image of a migrant in German media.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Keywords:<\/strong> lexicographical portrait; portraiture; migrant; image; German language; Asylbewerber; Fl\u00fcchtling; Migrant<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Chopsieva Giulsum Mamed kyzy Southern Federal University, Rostov-on-Don, Russia Institute of Philology, Journalism and Intercultural Communications E-mail: chopsieva@sfedu.ru ORCID: https:\/\/orcid.org\/0000-0003-4039-2064 RSCI: https:\/\/elibrary.ru\/author_profile.asp?id=1109556 Abstract.
