Special attention is paid to the study of the crisis state of masculinity in modern Russian society and the world as a whole. The main factors that had a destructive effect on the devaluation of masculinity as a value are indicated. Throughout the 20th century, masculinity was subjected to a massive attack from feminism, globalization and precariatization of society, as well as the growth of the psychology of mass consumption society. The family acts as the main socialization institution for the formation of male culture. First of all, the father is the bearer of male culture, who, through the organization of joint activities through everyday interaction, transmits to the younger generations the basics of male behavior, male culture, the pattern (pattern) of fatherhood. The pattern of fatherhood and male behavior is equally important for the formation of worldview ideas of both sons and daughters. The absence of a father in the family or his inappropriate behavior leads to a deformation of the value perception of male culture. The crisis of masculinity in our time is caused by the presence of failures in the mechanism of translation of male culture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Empirical material (analysis of video materials sent by children to the All-Russian contest &#171;We are together&#187; in 2021) shows exactly how the formation of male culture takes place in families. The phenomenological analysis of the video content showed the presence of certain social phenomena that relate to male culture, as well as the mechanisms of translation of male culture in the family space.
