Abstract.<\/strong> The purpose of the article is to acquaint a wide range of stakeholders involved in social design problems in working with young people with the existing positive experience of the Kursk region in creating conditions for the development of intellectual, creative and operational potential of representatives of this age category, the authors used the results of an author’s sociological study (expert survey) conducted in the Kursk region with a sample size of 100 people. Representatives of local government bodies of the Kursk region, public and research organizations, the media, public opinion leaders, university teachers, winners of regional and federal grant competitions acted as experts assessing the role of social design in working with young people in the region. The work also used traditional qualitative methods of sociological research: document analysis, content analysis, statistical analysis. The results of the study revealed a growing need to study the possibilities of using various forms of social design in working with young people, and an empirical study made it possible to show the main shortcomings in its organization: low social activity of potential participants; expressed support from the authorities only for youth leaders, low coverage of the entire age category; lack of a mechanism for notifying young people about social project competitions.<\/p>\n

The ambiguity of the definition of criteria and forms of social design in working with young people creates difficulties in determining the most significant areas (competitive and grant activities, teaching the basics of social design, innovation, volunteering and volunteering, helping socially unprotected and needy categories of citizens, spiritual and moral education, training to work, culture, leisure and sports) and as a result, creates practical problems in their implementation.<\/p>\n
