This theory is based on the ideology of synergetics, and the translation as a process is seen within the synergetic paradigm. Translation is explained as a system of explicit and implicit meanings which are transposed from one linguoculture to another. Harmony is defined as a cultural interpenetration of texts; in other words, a harmonious translation becomes an artifact of the target culture and enriches it.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It states that such terms as metatext and metatranslation are quite new for Russian linguistics, whereas European translation scholars tend to use other terms like paratranslation on English or paratraduction in French. The first scholar to lead cognitive studies of metatranslation was V. Kashkin. He defined several types of metatranslation. N. Plastinina focuses on reader\u2019s reflexion based on translator\u2019s foreword, which she sees as a type of metatranslation.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Our goal was to examine mental and verbal translator\u2019s reflexion, so we are focusing on the reflexion a translator performs when doing a metatranslation. We suggest a hypothesis that a metatext, as a product of metatranslation, can be seen as a way of examining translator\u2019s reflexion. We base our methodology on the synergetic approach to translation and metatranslation analysis, whose main principle is the increment of meanings that are acceptable for the target culture.
