Features of the implementation of the concept «help» in the story of V.P. Astafiev «Autumn sorrows and joys»

Abstract. This article is devoted to the study of the implementation of the concept «help» in the text of the story by V.P. Astafiev «Autumn sorrows and joys», which is included in the story «The Last Bow». The relevance of the work is due to the appeal to the cognitive description of dialect vocabulary, which complements the existing approaches to the study of dialect lexemes in V.P. Astafiev. The author uses a method of describing the concept, which includes a consistent consideration of the following elements: objectifying layer, derivational connections, internal form, figurative layer, functional and evaluative features, conceptual core, symbolic plan and scenario implementation. This technique allows you to combine the traditional methods of linguistic analysis: etymological, lexical-semantic, derivational, grammatical, stylistic with cognitive-culturological and linguoculturological methods.

The concept of «help» is verbalized with the help of a dialect word, as evidenced by the phonetic form with the final ending in -ch, which is parallel to the literary variant «help», which is Old Slavonic in origin. The dialect word “help” (in the plural “help”) denotes the most important concept of Russian peasant culture: the community’s support of individual families in labor-intensive agricultural work, which was mutual. The story «Autumn Sadness and Joy» describes one of the types of help — «cabbages», that is, help in harvesting cabbage for the winter. The author of the article consistently reveals the features of the implementation of the concept «help» in a literary text. The study examines the means of verbalization of the concept, derivational connections not only in the story itself, but also in the cycle of «children’s» stories of the story «The Last Bow». With the help of etymological analysis, an associative increase in meanings is traced. Figurative, functional and evaluative features of the concept are described based on the relevant fragments of the story. When considering the symbolic layer, the author turns to philosophical and cultural studies devoted to the phenomenon of Russian collectivism. Analysis of the compositional and plot basis of the story allows us to illustrate the scenario level of the concept «help».
