Abstract. The article discusses the modern method of influencing the consciousness of an individual in the tourism sector. The relevance of this problem in modern society is increasing given the use of new methods of attracting consumers in the tourism sector, including the use of artificial intelligence. The purpose of the study was to analyze the changes and transformations of manipulative practices in the context of the development of the tourism business and the formation of the information society. The author analyzes the interrelationships of established practices of manipulative influence with the formation of new trends in the deformation of the information field due to the development of data transmission speed. Special attention is focused on distorting the true meaning of cultural objects and using them as an attribute to create artificial consumer motivation. Using the example of the development of the tourism business in the Republic of Mordovia, the article shows how manipulation technologies that skillfully use the possibilities of marketing, advertising and social networks can form the attractiveness of a particular tourist destination, depriving it of its true value and meaning. Special attention is paid to new trends in influencing consumer consciousness in connection with the transition to the era of artificial intelligence, forecasts are made regarding modern manipulation techniques and the inevitability of their successful application. In conclusion, it is concluded that the impact of manipulative practices in the tourism sector is not only the subject of research on the interaction of humans and artificial intelligence, but also a threat to understanding the cultural heritage of the regions of our country.
