Abstract. The issues of spiritual, moral, patriotic education of children and youth have acquired special significance in recent years. The pedagogical community is looking for new approaches to the organization of educational work, the result of which will be the fulfillment of a public order for the reproduction of the values of ethnic history and culture. The author believes that the epic heritage as the pinnacle of folk wisdom can become the basis of the educational process.

The purpose of this article is to examine the role of epic heritage in the reproduction of ethnocultural values in the new digital world. It is shown that in the conditions of the emergence of a special kind of digital materiality, it is necessary to preserve the epic heritage and to ensure its existence in the new digital world and participation in cultural reproduction. The study revealed that the epic heritage is represented on the Internet, but not by competitiveness in an unlimited flow of information. It is concluded that the epic heritage in the new digital world should become interactive and visualized digital storytelling.

Due to the fact that the issues of reproduction of values are closely related to education, the author proposes to organize educational events to translate the epic heritage into digital storytelling with the involvement of students. The article presents the experience of the Aginsk secondary school № 1 and concludes that the epic heritage in the form of digital storytelling can play an important role in the reproduction of the values of ethnic history and culture.
